Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) countertops meet the requirements of most laboratories while at the same time bringing a range of additional benefits. These benefits include chemical, wear and water resistance.

Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) worksurfaces by Durcon Incorporated are the functional and decorative surfacing options for a wide variety of horizontal and vertical applications. Three styles are available, each based upon specific performance solutions. SPC by Durcon is UL Environment (Greenguard Gold) Qualified, recognized for LEED contributions and proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. FSC Certified material is available upon request. Please specify FSC Certified material when submitting your purchase order.

Standard Grade SPC

Standard Grade SPC is the multi-purpose surfacing solution made for general applications such as shelving, technical stations, light-duty worksurfaces and wall cladding. Standard Grade SPC is the base composition for Chemical Resistant SPC and Fired Rated SPC.

Chemical Resistant SPC

Chemical Resistant SPC is comprised of an additional layer to resist a variety of acids, solvents, general reagents and cleaning agents. Both sides of the product are chemical resistant.

Fire Rated SPC

Fire Rated SPC is thick Standard Grade SPC with fire retardant properties that are suitable for applications where fire rated properties are required by building codes.

Chemical Resistance

Used extensively in chemical, analytical, micro-biological and educational laboratories world-wide, Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) countertops are resistant to a large number of aggressive chemicals. Test results show the panel’s 24 hour resistance. Aggressive chemicals will not mark a Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) countertop - if cleaned within this time period.

Antimicrobial performance

Thanks to its unique surface composition, Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) countertops are non porous. Its anti-microbial propertiesare incorporated in the product without the use of coatings or additives. This means that these properties will remain active throughout the product’s lifetime. Bacteria, molds and/or other microorganisms are unable to grow or penetrate the surface. Bacteria stains will dry relatively fast on the surface – and will not find any source of nutrition on the material.

Solid Phenolic Compact (SPC) worktops are versatile and provide a tough and long-lasting surface that retains its appearance for many years.
